What are the ticket prices for the Home Lottery?
Home Lottery tickets are: 1 for $100, 3-Pack for $250, 5-Pack for $375, 10-Pack for $700, Mega-Pack for $500 and Max-Pack for $850.

What is a Mega-Pack?
Mega-Pack includes 5-Home lottery Tickets, 15-50/50 Tickets and 6-Cash Calendar Tickets for $500.

What is a Max-Pack?
Mega-Pack includes 10-Home lottery Tickets, 25-50/50 Tickets and 6-Cash Calendar Tickets for $850.

What are guidelines regarding the number of names on a Home Lottery ticket and payment terms?
All tickets in a 3-Pack, 5-Pack, 10-Pack, Mega-Pack or Max-Pack, must contain the same information. Up to three names can appear on a Home Lottery ticket. Only one form of payment may be used per purchase. Ticket numbers will be issued in sequential order.

Do I have to order a Home Lottery ticket in order to play the 50/50 Add-On?
Yes, per licensing body (AGCO) rules, participation in the 50/50 Add-On is contingent upon a verified purchase of a Home Lottery ticket order. [See separate FAQs for more information about the 50/50 Add-On].

Do I have to order a Home Lottery ticket in order to play the Cash Calendar?
No, there is no requirement that you order a Home Lottery ticket to play the Cash Calendar.

I didn’t order Cash Calendar tickets when I ordered my Home Lottery tickets. Can I still participate in the Cash Calendar?
Yes, you can place your Cash Calendar ticket order at any time prior to the ticket deadline of December 3, 2020.

Can someone who lives outside Ontario or overseas buy a ticket?
The lottery is intended for Ontario residents. Ticket buyers must be in Ontario at the time of order and provide an Ontario mailing address.

Who is not eligible to order a ticket?
The following individuals and all of their immediate family members residing in the same household are prohibited from ordering a ticket: Board members and employees of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, members of the UHN Board of Trustees and Executive Team, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Executive Team; partners and employees of MNP LLP and its affiliates; employees of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd., the NHL, NHL Enterprises Canada LP, the NBA, NBA Properties Inc., NBA Media Ventures LLC; and members of licensed gaming suppliers providing services to this program.

What are my chances of winning a prize?
There are 16,035 prizes and only 550,000 tickets available. 1 chance in 550,000 tickets x 16,035 draws equates to approx. 1 chance in 35 to win a prize.

I haven’t received my official ticket / it contains a spelling/address error
Please allow up to 3-5 business days for your tickets by email or 7-10 business days for tickets by Canada Post. What would happen if a “bad” payment was made for a ticket (e.g. Cheque NSF)?
One week is allowed between the ticket sales cutoff and the start of the draws. This time period allows for all forms of payment to be verified and processed. Only tickets that have been paid for and/or have been verified as paid for are eligible to be entered for the respective draw(s). If for any reason a payment is returned, the ticket will be deemed invalid if payment cannot be verified prior to the start of the draws.

How long does it take to receive my tickets?
Mailed Tickets: Upon receipt and/or authorization of payment for your ticket order, you should receive your ticket(s) via Canada Post in 7-10 business days.
Emailed Tickets: Upon receipt and/or authorization of payment for your ticket order, you should receive your ticket(s) via email in 3-5 business days.

Where are the prize homes?

When does the Oakville Showhome open and close?
Due to the global pandemic, for the health and safety of both our staff and visitors, the Oakville Showhome is currently closed for viewing. Thank you for your understanding and for your support of our lottery, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and our community.

Why isn’t the showhome address published?
The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation has a care of duty to minimize the impact for the local neighborhood and as the Showhome is currently closed for viewing, the lottery will not be posting the address for safety and security reasons.

How do I see the prize properties?

Are the prizes donated?
No. All prizes are purchased by the Foundation using the tender process.

Is my ticket purchase tax deductible?
No. Prizes won are not taxable. Therefore, a ticket purchase cannot be used as a tax deduction.

Do I have to pay tax on any winnings?
Lottery winnings are considered a windfall and not taxable in Canada.

If I win a home do I have to live in it or can I sell it?
Once a home is awarded to the winner, they do not have to live in it. Any prize won can be sold if the winner wishes to do so. The title for a home may be registered in anyone’s name.

Is there Capital Gains Tax on a property if I sell it?
Winning real estate is considered a lottery prize, not a capital gain. Lottery winnings are not taxable in Canada. We recommend that you contact a tax or legal professional with specific questions.

Do I have to take my prize or can I just take the cash?
Prizes must be accepted as awarded, except where indicated in the brochure or online that there are cash alternatives. Cash alternatives exist for the following prizes: All vacations and vehicles. Please refer to your lottery brochure or PrincessMargaretLotto.com for details.

If I win but I can’t travel, can I get the cash?
All vacation prizes will be awarded as cheques and do not have to be used towards travel.

How long do I have to claim my prize?
We ask that all winners claim their prizes within six (6) weeks if possible. Prizes must be claimed within six (6) months of the draw date.

What happens if I cannot pick up my prize in person?
Arrangements may be made to have a prize shipped to you “freight collect”, or if someone other than the winner will be claiming the prize on the winner’s behalf, the winner must provide written and signed authorization along with the original prize-winning letter.

How are winners notified?
All winners will be notified in writing as to what they have won and where to claim their prizes. A searchable list of all prize winners will be posted online at PrincessMargaretLotto.com on November 26 or December 10, 2020 pending sell out of the lottery. Will draws be televised on CP24?
No, the Home Lottery Draws will not be televised live on CP24. The top valued prize winners will be announced live on CP24 on the applicable Home Lottery draw date (either November 19 or December 3, 2020).

How are the draws made?
Ticket fulfillment and draw control services are provided by MNP LLP. Draws will take place at the offices of MNP, 111 Richmond St W., Suite #300, Toronto, ON M5H 2G4. The records of MNP LLP shall be deemed correct and final. A certified Random Number Generator (RNG) will be used to conduct the draws. There will be no restriction on the number of 50/50 Add-On tickets offered for sale. Ticket numbers will be issued in sequential order beginning at 5,000,001. 50/50 Add-On ticket numbers will be listed on your Home Lottery Official Ticket receipt.

How many tickets will I receive if I order a 5-Pack, 15-Pack or 25-Pack?
For each 50/50 Add-On order placed in conjunction with your Home Lottery, one official ticket receipt will be issued. The ticket will list all ticket numbers assigned for Home Lottery and the 50/50 Add-On draw.

Can I give the 50/50 Add-On ticket as a gift?

Can I cancel my 50/50 Add-On ticket and get a refund?
Ticket orders must be cancelled prior to commencement of the draws and will be refunded for the amount that was paid for the ticket. Once draws have begun, no refunds are permitted. If a ticket order for the Home Lottery is cancelled, all 50/50 Add-On tickets ordered with that ticket will also be cancelled.

When is the ticket sales deadline?
The Cash Calendar Ticket Sales Deadline is: Midnight, December 3, 2020. The Holiday Cash Prize Deadline Sales Deadline is: Midnight, November 27, 2020.

When are the Draws?
There are 520 draws. Twenty (20) Holiday Cash Prizes of $5,000 will take place approx. 8:00am on December 9, 2020. Four hundred 400 Daily Cash Prizes of $1,000, 85 Daily Cash Prizes of $10,000 and 15 Friday Cash Prizes of $40,000 will take place on December 11, 2020 at approx. 8:00 am. MNP LLP will randomly select one (1) winner from among all eligible ticket numbers for each of the five hundred (500) Cash Prizes to be awarded from December 11, 2020 to March 20, 2021. All winners will be notified in writing within two (2) weeks of the day for which their winning ticket was selected.

How are the Cash Calendar Draws made?
Ticket fulfillment and draw control services are provided by MNP LLP. Draws will take place at the offices of MNP, 111 Richmond St W #300, Toronto, ON M5H 2G4. The records of MNP LLP shall be deemed correct and final. A certified Random Number Generator (RNG) will be used to conduct the draws. Will the draws be televised on CP24?
No, Cash Calendar draws will not be televised.

How many names can appear on a Calender ticket?
Up to three names can appear on a Calendar ticket.

No, there is no requirement that you order a Home Lottery ticket to play the Cash Calendar.

I have misplaced my Cash Calendar ticket. Am I still eligible for the Draws?
Yes. The official Calendar ticket is a receipt of purchase, but you do not need it in hand to be entered for the prize draws. All ticket numbers sold will be represented in the draw.

Can I cancel my Cash Calendar ticket and get a refund?
Princess Margaret Cash Calendar ticket orders may be cancelled prior to the commencement of the draws and will be refunded for the amount that was paid for the ticket. Once draws have begun, no refunds are permitted.

I haven’t received my official ticket / it contains a spelling/address error
Please allow up to 3-5 business days for tickets by email or 7- 10 business days for your ticket by Canada Post Mail. Ticket purchasers who have not received their OFFICIAL TICKET after this time or who wish to report a misspelled name or address on an OFFICIAL TICKET should call 1-800-542-8813or email pmhlotterycs@mnp.ca.

What would happen if a “bad” payment was made for a ticket (e.g. Cheque NSF)?
Time is allowed between the ticket sales cutoff and the start of the draws for all forms of payment to be verified and processed. Only tickets that have been paid for and/or have been verified as paid for are eligible to be entered for the respective draw(s). If for any reason a payment is returned, the ticket will be deemed invalid if payment cannot be verified prior to the start of the draws.

If I win, is my ticket still in for the other Draws?
Yes, each Cash Calendar ticket number is entered for each and every draw.

16,035 prizes will be awarded, Valued at $14,490,059.19 (including all taxes and freight). Only 550,0000 tickets will be sold.

Eligibility

The following individuals and all of their immediate family members residing in the same household are prohibited from ordering a ticket: Board members and employees of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, members of the UHN Board of Trustees and Executive Team, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Executive Team; partners and employees of MNP LLP and its affiliates; employees of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd., the NHL, NHL Enterprises Canada LP, the NBA, NBA Properties Inc., NBA Media Ventures LLC; and members of licensed gaming suppliers providing services to this program.

Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Tickets cannot be ordered in the name of a minor. Only tickets that have been paid for and/or have been verified as paid for are eligible to be entered for the respective draw(s). Tickets must be ordered and delivered within the province of Ontario.

By purchasing a ticket, you agree to allow us, The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, and its licensed gaming suppliers providing services to this program, the right, if you are a prize winner, to use and publicly disclose your name, municipality of residence, image, photograph and likeness as a prize winner in any means required by the terms of our lottery license and/or that we consider appropriate for purposes of administering and promoting the lottery, without notice, review or approval or additional compensation to you.

Tickets are $100 each or a 3-Pack* for $250 or a 5-Pack* for $375 or a 10-Pack* for $700. Tickets numbers will be issued in sequential order. *Guidelines for purchasing a 3-Pack or 5-Pack or a 10-Pack are as follows:

Only ONE method of payment.
Only ONE mailing address.
Only ONE envelope will be mailed containing all ticket numbers.
Up to THREE names may be recorded on a ticket.

The official ticket is a receipt of purchase. The first draw will be for the Loyalty Prize. Only tickets ordered by Midnight, August 28, will qualify for the Loyalty Prize Draws. The draws (10 prizes) will take place on September 9, 2020 at approx. 8:00am. The next draw will be for the VIP Prize. Only tickets ordered by Midnight, September 18, will qualify for the VIP Prize Draw. The draw (1 prize) will take place on September 30, 2020 at approx. 8:00am. The next draw will be for the Bonus Prize. Only tickets ordered by Midnight, October 9, will qualify for the Bonus Prize Draw. The top valued prize winners and the Early Bird Prize winner will be announced live on CP24 on November 19, 2020 between 7:00am and 6:00pm at the Grand Prize Showhome in Oakville.

**In the event tickets remain after the Early Bird Prize Deadline, then only the Early Bird Prize draw will take place on November 17, 2020 at approx. 8:00am at the offices of MNP LLP and the winner will be announced live on CP24 Breakfast on November 19, 2020 between 5:30am and 9:00am at 299 Queen Street W. Toronto, M5V 2Z5. Marketing will continue to the Final Sales Deadline of Midnight, November 20.

The remaining prize draws will then be made on December 1, 2020 at approx. 8:00am at the office of MNP LLP starting with the lowest valued prize and concluding with the $6 Million Grand Prize. The top valued prize winners will be announced live on CP24 on December 3, 2020 between 7:00am and 6:00pm at the Grand Prize Showhome in Oakville.

Tickets ordered before the Loyalty Prize deadline will be eligible for all 16,035 draws. Tickets ordered after the Loyalty Prize deadline but before the VIP Prize deadline will be eligible for 16,025 draws. Tickets ordered after the VIP Prize deadline but before the Bonus Prize deadline will be eligible for 16,024 draws. Tickets ordered after the Bonus Prize deadline but before the Early Bird Prize deadline will be eligible for 16,023 draws. Prize Claim

Prizes will be awarded to the individual(s) named on the official ticket. Prize notification letters are addressed to the primary ticketholder. It is the responsibility of the primary ticketholder to allocate the prize if necessary. Prizes awarded may not be exactly as illustrated.

†† Prize values stated are retail value as of date contracts were negotiated with suppliers and are independently verified by prize suppliers, as per AGCO rules.

Custom grand prize homes may include many custom upgrades, unique features and the full retail replacement value of all of these features including appliances and finishes, flooring, landscaping etc. Real estate retail prize values are calculated based on contracted purchase price and include: land purchase price, value of home construction, materials, labor, permits, all taxes applicable including full HST, cost of site preparation, landscaping, carrying costs, furnishings, and decorating.

Due to housing market fluctuations, the market value of the real estate prizes may rise or diminish over time. Winner or charity is not entitled to the difference, if any, between the stated and actual market value at the time the prize is awarded.

Winners of real estate prizes will be required to sign a Full & Final Release prior to the home being transferred.

Vacation prizes will be awarded as cheques payable to the primary ticketholder for the value of the trip as described in the lottery brochure at the time of printing. Prize winners are asked to claim prizes in a timely manner following notification. Any prizes which are not claimed shall be secured for a period of six (6) months from the date of the draw. Unclaimed prizes will be reported, and a charitable allocation will be approved by the licensing body.

50/50 Add-On tickets are 5-pack for $25,15-pack for $50 and 25-pack for $75. All tickets in a pack must contain the same information.

All 50/50 Add-On tickets must correspond to the primary ticketholder’s name in the Princess Margaret Home Lottery database. 50/50 Add-Onticket(s) will not be assigned to an alternate name(s).

50/50 Add-On ticket numbers ordered will be issued in sequential order and will be listed on your Home Lottery Official Ticket receipt and will begin at 5 000 001.

If a ticket order for the Home Lottery is cancelled, any and all 50/50 Add-On tickets ordered with that ticket will also be cancelled.

Eligibility

The following individuals and all of their immediate family members residing in the same household are prohibited from ordering a ticket: Board members and employees of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, members of the UHN Board of Trustees and Executive Team, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Executive Team; partners and employees of MNP LLP and its affiliates; and members of licensed gaming suppliers providing services to this program.

By purchasing a ticket, you agree to allow us, The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, and its licensed gaming suppliers providing services to this program, the right, if you are a prize winner, to use and publicly disclose your name, municipality of residence, image, photograph and likeness as a prize winner in any means required by the terms of our lottery licence and/ or that we consider appropriate for purposes of administering and promoting the lottery, without notice, review or approval or additional compensation to you.

Tickets

A maximum of 390,000 Calendar ticket numbers will be sold. Ticket numbers will be issued in sequential order and will begin at 8 000 001. Prices are: one (1) for $25, 3-pack* for $50, or a 6-pack* for $75. For each order placed, one Calendar ticket receipt will be issued. The Calendar ticket receipt will list one, three or six Calendar ticket numbers.

* Guidelines for purchasing are as follows:

Only ONE method of payment.
Only ONE mailing address.
Only ONE envelope will be mailed containing ticket numbers printed on one official Calendar ticket receipt.
Up to THREE names may be recorded on a ticket.
All tickets must contain the same information.

The official ticket/Calendar is a receipt of purchase. It is the responsibility of ticket purchasers to ensure that they receive their ticket(s), however, purchasers do not need their ticket/s in hand in order to be included in the respective draw(s). No refunds will be issued after commencement of the draws. Ticket purchases are not tax deductible. Official tickets will be delivered to the customer via email and/or letter mail. For all ticket orders where a valid email address is provided, the official ticket receipt will be provided by email within 3-5 business days. Where no email address is provided, official ticket receipts will be mailed. Ticket purchasers may request a physical copy of their ticket(s) at the time of purchase or by calling Customer Service at 1-800-542-8813. Physical ticket(s) will be mailed to the address provided at the time of the order within 7-10 business days.

All inquiries, if any, regarding the “Chances of Winning” are to be made to the licensee prior to the purchase of ticket(s).

The liability of the licensee of this lottery shall be limited to the purchase price of the ticket.

Prizes

There is a total of 520 cash prizes (“prizes”) to be awarded valued at $1,950,000: Twenty (20) Holiday Cash Prizes of $5,000, Four hundred (400) Prizes of $1,000, Eighty-five (85) Prizes of $10,000 and Fifteen (15) Prizes of $40,000.

Draw Order

The draws for the twenty (20) Holiday Cash Prizes of $5,000 will be made at approx. 8am on December 9, 2020. MNP LLP will randomly select one (1) winner from among all eligible ticket numbers for each of the twenty (20) Holiday Cash Prizes to be awarded on December 9, 2020.

The remaining 500 Cash Prizes – 400 Daily Cash Prizes of $1,000, 85 Daily Cash Prizes of $10,000 and 15 Friday Cash Prizes of $40,000 will take place on December 11, 2020 at approx. 8:00am. MNP LLP will randomly select one (1) winner from among all eligible ticket numbers for each of the five hundred (500) Cash Prizes to be awarded from December 11, 2020 to March 20, 2021. All winners will be notified in writing within two (2) weeks of the day for which their winning ticket was selected.

Draw Control

Ticket Fulfillment and Draw Control by MNP LLP. The records of MNP LLP shall be deemed correct and final.

Princess Margaret Hospital Lottery Cash Calendar

All draws will be made using Random Number Generator software (RNG) under the supervision of MNP LLP. Winning ticket numbers are eligible for all subsequent prize draws.

All Cash Calendar Lottery draws will take place at approximately 8:00am at the offices of MNP LLP, 3100 Steeles Ave E #700, Markham, ON L3R 8T3.

Prize Winner Notification

All prize winners will be notified in writing within two (2) weeks of the day for which their winning ticket was selected. Winning results from the Holiday Cash Prizes will be posted on the website at PrincessMargaretLotto.com on December 9, 2020. Winning results for the Daily Cash Prizes ($1,000 and $10,000), and Friday Cash Prizes will be posted on the website at PrincessMargaretLotto.com every day from December 11, 2020 to March 20, 2021.

Prize Claim

Prizes will be awarded to the individual(s) named on the official Calendar ticket. Prize notification letters are addressed to the primary ticketholder. It is the responsibility of the primary ticketholder to allocate the prize if necessary.

Prizes must be accepted as awarded. Prize winnings are not taxable.

Prize winners are asked to claim prizes in a timely manner following notification. Any prizes which are not claimed shall be secured for a period of six (6) months following the close of the lottery on March 20, 2021. Unclaimed prizes will be reported, and a charitable allocation will be approved by the licensing body.
